For Your Information

  • The Veterans Service Office is mandated by MN Statute Section 197.60.
  • The Veterans Service Office exists "To promote the interests and welfare of veterans, their dependents and survivors and to enhance their quality of life through counseling, claims assistance, education, advocacy and special projects."
  • The Veterans Service Office assists county residents, who have served in the armed forces of the United States, in securing the benefits such as; federal, state, dependent, transportation, mental health, and chemical dependency.

Helpful Tips

  • We suggest that every veteran contact our office to make an appointment to go over all benefits a veteran is entitled to.
  • We suggest that paperwork not be filed without the assistance of our office, the system is very cumbersome and there are many obstacles that our office can help with to make the process easier and faster.
  • We have a veteran's transportation program that takes veterans to medical appointments at the VA in Minneapolis, this service is free. The van goes to the VA on even numbered days only.
