Meeting of August 19, 2008
The Board of County Commissioners of Wabasha County, Minnesota, convened in Regular Session at the Wabasha County Services Building, in the City of Wabasha, Minnesota on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.
The meeting was called to order by Board Chairman Riester. The following Commissioners were present: Windhorst, Dwelle, McNallan, Riester and Springer.

Resolution No.: 2008-189
Whereas, Project C.P. 79-08-7030 – supply and haul crushed quarry rock to various roads located in Wabasha County, with any and/or all Supplemental Agreements, Change Orders or Work Orders, has been completed.
Now Therefore be it Resolved by the Wabasha County Board of Commissioners that the Wabasha County Auditor/Treasurer be authorized to issue a warrant for final payment to Holm Bros Construction, Inc. in the amount of $6,939.47.

Resolution No.: 2008-190
Whereas, Project S.A.P. 079-604-041 – from 2730 feet south of the Jct of CSAH 4 and CSAH 10 to 620 feet south of the Jct of TH 61 and CSAH 4, with any and/or all Supplemental Agreements, Change Orders or Work Orders, has been completed.
Now Therefore be it Resolved by the Wabasha County Board of Commissioners that the Wabasha County Auditor/Treasurer be authorized to issue a warrant for final payment to Holm Bros Construction, Inc. in the amount of $70,022.57.

Resolution No.: 2008-191
Whereas, Wabasha County has applied for and been granted $16,419 to apply toward expenses associated with the Wabasha County Emergency Management Office through the Emergency Management Performance Grant, and
Whereas, Brenda Wodele, Wabasha County Emergency Management Director, and Peter Riester, Wabasha County Board of Commissioners Chairman, are hereby authorized to sign the Grant Agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Division of Homeland Security on behalf of Wabasha County, and
Now Therefore be it Resolved that the County of Wabasha, Minnesota, enter into an Agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management for the 2008 Emergency Management Performance Grant.

Rodney Bartsh, Wabasha County Sheriff, introduced Roger Olwin from Elert & Associates to give the final presentation on the radio system. Roger named many of the alternative options to the current radio system. He spoke on which alternatives he recommended or didn’t recommend. He cited cost differences also. He recommends going to the 800 megahertz system. The Board discussed leasing out excess property at the Criminal Justice Center site. They would like someone to grow alfalfa or rye on the land. Commissioner Riester suggested having a 5-year lease with a cover crop beginning this fall. They will get the specs together and bring a contract to the next meeting for Board approval.
