Meeting of February 23, 2016


The Board of County Commissioners of Wabasha County, Minnesota, convened in Regular Session at the Wabasha County Courthouse, in the City of Wabasha, Minnesota on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.

The meeting was called to order by Board Chairman Hall.

The following Commissioners were present: Goihl, Hall, Key, Springer. Absent: Wobbe

Whereas, that the Wabasha County Board of Commissioners on an annual basis per the Fund Balance policy approves by consensus designated fund balances as of the end of the financial reporting period.

Now Therefore be it Resolved by the Wabasha County Board of Commissioners that, the following designations as of December 31, 2015 are approved:

Resolution No.: 2016-054

Whereas, Wabasha County has imposed a transportation tax that will be effective April 1, 2016; and

Whereas, to be able to collect those taxes the County needs to enter into the an agreement with the Department of Revenue; and

Whereas, it is asked that County Administrator Plante and Board Chair Hall be authorized to execute the agreement;

Now Therefore Be It Resolved by the Wabasha County Board of Commissioners that it approves the referenced agreement and authorizes County Administrator Plante and Board Chair Hall to sign on its behalf.

Update of Three Rivers Transportation given by Amy Repinski, Director of Transportation

SPRINGER - GOIHL

Resolution No: 2016-055

Whereas, the Wabasha County Board of Commissioners has approved an appropriation in the amount of $6,000.00 in the 2016 Budget to be paid to the South East MN Violent Crime Enforcement Team (f/k/a Southeast Minnesota Narcotics & Gang Task Force), and,

Whereas, the South East MN Violent Crime Enforcement Team is requesting this amount be paid to the organization.

Whereas, the Sheriff also requests approval for the Auditor’s Office to cut an Auditor’s Warrant not to exceed the invoice amount of $6,000.00.

Now Therefore be it Resolved by the Wabasha County Board of Commissioners that, the Wabasha County Board of Commissioners authorizes the payment of $6,000.00 to the South East MN Violent Crime Enforcement Team.

Be it further Resolved by the Wabasha County Board of Commissioners that, the Auditor’s Office is hereby authorized to cut an Auditor’s Warrant not to exceed the invoice amount of $6,000.00 to the respective vendor.

The Finance Director presented end-of-year financial reports: Investments, Cash Flow, Fund Balances, Tax Collections and Budget.

Commissioners reported on meetings they attended.
