The Wabasha County Restorative Justice Program encompasses three main components – Community Conferences, Restore Our Community (ROC) and Youth Link Mentorship.
The objective of Community Conferencing is to bring a juvenile offender(s) and their victim(s) together with their respective support systems, community members and a trained facilitator in an environment that allows for safe and respectful communication in regards to the harm that was done and in determining how the offender can repair that harm.
ROC is the community work service project for juveniles in Wabasha County and receives its referrals from an Intake Diversion Committee, Court Services or the County Attorney.
Youth Link is a community-based program that matches adult volunteers with at-risk youth ages 8-17 in a mentoring relationship for at least one year. This program would not exist without its volunteers and contributors and encourages anyone who is interested in being a part of creating a safer and stronger community to contact the coordinator.
