Solid Waste/Recycling/Household Hazardous Waste Program
This area is responsible for the licensing of solid waste and recycling haulers as well as administering programs related to waste reduction; reuse; recycling; household hazardous waste; and solid waste disposal. Numerous household hazardous waste collections and countywide cleanups are organized through this program. The household hazardous waste program is comprised of collection, product exchanges and education. In addition, educational materials are developed and distributed to inform the general public and businesses about county solid waste policies and state and federal regulations. The program also involves updating and implementing the Wabasha County Solid Waste Management Plan.
